Valentine Camp, SNARL and the associated facilities are available to all academic, non-profit, government agencies and community groups that fall within the constraints of our mission (education, research, public service).
Acquired by UCSB in 1973, the Sierra Nevada Aquatic Reserach Lab serves as a base for research and teaching in a large part of eastern, central California and western Nevada. With some of the most developed facilities in the Natural Reserve System and a considerable outreach program, SNARL is the UC outpost in this part of the State. To view SNARL's laboratory, office, computing, and housing facilities please visit the SNARL facilities page.
Valentine Camp has housing for 16 in three renovated log cabins constructed in the 1920's and is assigned at the discretion of the Director. Each cabin has modern cooking, sleeping, bathroom facilities; electricity; spring water; limited parking/storage space.
